Australian stuntman Robbie Maddison took to Sydney's Cockle Bay on a one-of-a-kind water-going motorcycle this morning as part of the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show presented by Shannons Insurance which is being held at the International Convention Centre, Sydney this weekend.

This mornings test run was a prelude to the free public demonstrations that will take place on Cockle Bay at midday tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday.

These shows will be the first time anywhere in the world the public is invited to watch Maddison ride the unique motorcycle.
Spectators will also be able to view bike up close and meet Maddison at the Sydney Motorcycle Show before and after each demonstration.

The Australian FMX legend who made global headlines in 2015 when he rode the waterbike on a wave near Teahupoo in Tahiti said he was thrilled with this morning's trial run.

"I was relieved and excited about this morning's two test runs," Maddison said. "This was the first time trialing the bike in Cockle Bay and I wasn't quite sure if we had enough room but it was perfect.

"It is great to be back in Sydney and to be running the bike on the iconic harbour is just awesome.

"This weekends demonstrations will be the first time the public has been invited to watch me ride the waterbike and it is free. I really hope we see some big crowds here across the weekend.

"I can't thank the Sydney Motorcycle Show and Properties NSW for making this happen," he added.

The 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show presented by Shannons Insurance is managed by Troy Bayliss Events on behalf of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries.
