Ricky Rice will be racing in the Legends Class at the "Motul Pirelli Troy Bayliss Classic" event in Taree, NSW. This one-day event showcases racers from all areas of motorcycle competition from Australia and around the world.

Sponsoring Ricky for the event is Indian Motorcycle Brisbane. Country Manager for Indian Motorcycle, Peter Harvey, talks about the Indian legacy and the sponsorship.

The Indian brand has a long history and has been in the motorcycle scene since 1901 - over a century. During that time, Indian has had great success in many forms of racing and it's a legacy that not many other motorcycle brands hold according to Peter. Anywhere you go in the world you can hear someone say "I love owning an Indian" or "I want to own an Indian." "It has become an aspirational brand all over the world and a lot of this can be traced back our racing successes" says Peter.

Good representation at events like "Motul Pirelli Troy Bayliss Classic" is important for Indian. The sponsorship is about representing the dealership and brand. It's about getting people to know who these guys are and what Indian Brisbane bring to the table and the sponsorship is a good match Peter believes.

"You need to have credibility from the get go. To have someone like Ricky racing and Kevin Hilliam as the technician, those two guys at it together brings credibility from the word go. Ricky brings with him a wealth of experience in both Australian and International Road Racing whilst Kevin's skills and expertise were developed from a long career in Australian road racing and speedway racing".

"Really it is a nice position for the store and for the customers to know there are real high quality people working in the dealership. To be invited amongst that group of riders is an honor in that self and shows the esteem that Ricky is held in" says Peter.

Also racing at "Motul Pirelli Troy Bayliss Classic" will be Jared Mees who will form part of the Official Indian Motorcycle Wrecking Crew in the US this year. Jared and his team mates will compete in the American Flat Track series riding the purpose built Indian Scout FTR750.
